Jakarta, 25 September 2025 – PT Jayamas Medica Industri Tbk (JMI), a leading Indonesian medical device manufacturer with the OneMed brand, together with SUN Energy, officially inaugurated the operation of a 740 kWp rooftop solar energy system at two of its production facilities in Krian and Mojoagung, East Java.
This initiative marks a new breakthrough in Indonesia’s healthcare industry, showcasing manufacturing that not only focuses on product quality but also embraces clean energy transition to create a positive impact on both human health and the environment. For JMI, this initiative is also part of the company’s strategy to integrate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into its operations. By adopting solar energy, JMI supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) #7 Affordable and Clean Energy and SDG #9 Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, while reinforcing its position as a listed medical device company that prioritizes energy efficiency, carbon emission reduction, and long-term sustainability.
The rooftop solar system is projected to generate around 1,067,074 kWh of clean energy annually, with a potential reduction of 830 tons of CO₂ emissions per year. This impact is equivalent to planting more than 13,781 trees, further strengthening JMI’s contribution to climate change mitigation and highlighting the healthcare industry’s concrete steps in integrating sustainability into long-term practices.
"As a healthcare manufacturer, we believe that human health and environmental balance must go hand in hand. Through this rooftop solar installation, JMI takes a strategic step to reduce operational carbon footprint, strengthen sustainable healthcare manufacturing practices, and create long-term value for all stakeholders," said Leonard H. Hartanto, Operations Director of PT Jayamas Medica Industri Tbk.
This collaboration also marks SUN Energy’s first portfolio in the healthcare industry. With more than 200 MW of solar power projects developed across strategic sectors, SUN Energy continues to expand its role in transforming vital industries that support national health resilience. As Indonesia’s leading solar energy developer with a track record of projects in over 50 industrial sectors, SUN Energy strengthens its position as a trusted sustainability partner for companies accelerating energy transition and building long-term competitiveness.
"Since COVID-19, we realize that the healthcare industry is one of the nation’s backbones. Therefore, we are proud to support OneMed in its energy transition journey. Leveraging cross-sector experience, SUN Energy provides solutions that are environmentally friendly and sustainable, while creating long-term value for our partners. This project with JMI is a key milestone to expand the positive impact of renewable energy in healthcare, building a green industry that is resilient, innovative, and globally competitive," said Emmanuel Jefferson Kuesar, CEO of SUN Energy.
In addition to contributing to national sustainability, this solar project also strengthens East Java’s energy transition efforts, one of Indonesia’s fastest-growing industrial provinces. East Java is the second-largest economy in Java, contributing more than 25% to the island’s Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and around 14–15% to Indonesia’s GDP.
Beyond being a strategic move for OneMed, this project also positions East Java as a national industrial hub that is increasingly turning to renewable energy to improve efficiency, global competitiveness, and long-term sustainability.
