Our History

SUN Energy started as a small business six years ago, with our first project being an off-grid solar energy system installation in a rural area of Sumatra Island.

From the beginning, our top priority and proudest accomplishment has been providing energy access to people who were previously disconnected from the grid. Over time, we have grown to become Indonesia's largest solar developer, operating in more than 30 cities and executing large projects on multiple occasions.

Today, SUN Energy is an end-to-end provider, offering integrated solutions for solar energy systems. As we continue to expand, we have set our sights on serving customers beyond Indonesia and increasing our capacity to more than 2 Gigawatts.

CSR Project

SUN Energy's humble beginnings included small start-up projects like CSR initiatives for PT Kuansing Inti Makmur and KAT Birang. Today, the company has established itself as Indonesia's foremost solar developer, with a commitment to bringing electricity to remote and underdeveloped villages. Our goal is to electrify one such village for every one MWp of solar energy project we undertake.

Astra Honda Motor

SUN Energy has completed the installation of the rooftop solar energy system at the PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) production facilities with a total capacity of 1.9 MWp of green electricity

QBIG Mall

We also contribute to the installation of the largest rooftop solar energy system at QBIG Mall in BSD City, with a total capacity of 1.9 MWP, making it the first mall in Indonesia to have such an installation with 5,748 pieces of solar panels.

Unilever

Unilever worked with SUN Energy to install a solar energy system with a capacity of 199.7 kWp at Grha Unilever in BSD City, equivalent to reducing CO2 emissions by 1,870 tons per year and planting 2,804 trees.

Shell

Shell also installed a solar energy system with a capacity of 43.18 kWp in one of their petrol stations in Jakarta, reducing CO2 emissions by 402 tons per year.

Djarum

Djarum has completed the installation of solar energy systems for its factories and offices in five Indonesian cities. Djarum demonstrates its commitment to a greener earth by utilizing renewable energy with a total capacity of 1,2 MWp.

ITERA Campus

In collaboration with ITERA and PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, SUN Energy built Indonesia's largest PLTS laboratory for renewable energy research. The facility uses 3,036 solar panels to generate 4 MWh of electricity daily and could reduce carbon emissions by up to 5,600 tons of CO2 annually. With this solar energy system, ITERA can fulfill 50% of its electricity requirements.

Merredin Solar Farm, Australia

SUN Energy contributes to the transformation of energy not only in Indonesia, but also throughout Asia-Pacific. One of them is the acquisition of Merredin Solar Farm in Australia's Central Wheatbelt. The Merredin Solar Farm is currently Western Australia's largest solar energy installation, and SUN Energy's acquisition of it is intended to advance the adoption of renewable energy not just within the country, but also worldwide.

Sido Muncul

Sido Muncul, a leading herbal products manufacturer in Indonesia, prioritizes sustainability by installing a 2 MWp rooftop solar power plant to reduce emissions and use renewable energy.

KIA Keramik

KIA Keramik, also known as PT Keramika Indonesia Assosiasi, collaborated with SUN Energy to install a solar energy system with a capacity of over 3 MWp at one of its factories in Karawang, West Java.

Remarkable Year

SUN Energy achieved remarkable milestones, securing the title of the leading solar project developer in Indonesia according to the Dewan Energi Nasional (DEN). The groundbreaking 9.8 MWp rooftop solar system at Tjiwi Kimia, the largest in Indonesia's industrial sector, reflects their commitment to sustainable energy, significantly reducing carbon footprints. Simultaneously, SUN Energy established a new benchmark by installing a 1.5 MWp solar system at Universitas Tanjungpura, the largest in education.
