Jakarta, April 8, 2026 — PT ABC President Indonesia (ABCPI), a food and beverage manufacturer known for products such as Mi ABC (Selera Pedas) and Nu Green Tea, is strengthening its commitment to environmentally responsible manufacturing by integrating a 1.3 MW rooftop solar energy system at its production facility in Karawang, West Java. The project was developed by SUN Energy to provide clean energy directly within the factory’s operational area.
As ABCPI continues to expand its market reach across Asia, Europe, Oceania, Africa, the Middle East, and North America, the company is also reinforcing responsible operational practices, including environmental impact management within its production facilities—aligned with growing sustainability expectations in global supply chains.
The rooftop solar energy system is projected to generate more than 1,947,910 kWh of clean energy annually. From an environmental perspective, this is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 1,515 tons per year, equivalent to planting around 25,156 trees annually.
This initiative reflects ABCPI’s commitment to maintaining product quality while strengthening environmental responsibility in its operations.
“For us, maintaining product quality must go hand in hand with strengthening environmentally responsible production practices. The integration of solar energy at this facility is part of our long-term strategy to build efficient, responsible operations aligned with the global energy transition,” said Dwi Hatmadji, Chief Operating Officer of ABCPI.
As a manufacturing facility with consistent energy demand, the use of rooftop solar energy systems represents a practical approach to operational decarbonization. By introducing clean energy directly at the production site, ABCPI expands its use of renewable energy to support daily factory operations while reinforcing its sustainability direction.
SUN Energy added that the adoption of rooftop solar in the industrial sector is a tangible step in accelerating renewable energy utilization, as clean energy is generated directly at operational sites.
“Products like Mi ABC and Nu Green Tea are part of everyday life for many people. We appreciate ABCPI’s initiative to integrate solar energy into its production process as part of building more environmentally responsible manufacturing practices. Going forward, we hope more industrial players will communicate their clean energy initiatives to the public,” said Jefferson Kuesar, CEO of SUN Energy.
The installation of this rooftop solar energy system also reflects the growing importance of collaboration between industrial players and renewable energy developers in advancing the energy transition—particularly through initiatives that can be directly implemented within operational processes.
