Avian Brands and SUN Energy Forge Strategic Partnership to Lead Energy Transformation in Indonesia’s Paint Industry

Rooftop Solar Energy System at Avian Production Facilities in East Java

Jakarta, August 14, 2025 — PT Avia Avian Tbk (Avian Brands) strengthens its position as a leading paint and coatings company committed to sustainability through a strategic partnership with SUN Energy. This collaboration marks an important milestone in the implementation of Avian Brands’ Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) roadmap, which places renewable energy as a long-term strategic environmental pillar.

After successfully implementing rooftop solar energy systems across several of its facilities, Avian Brands is now expanding solar energy utilization to its two main factories in Serang, Banten and Sidoarjo, East Java. This step not only increases the company’s green energy capacity but also strengthens its foundation toward low-emission and efficient operations.

With a total capacity expected to generate 873,000 kWh of green energy annually, the installation is projected to reduce carbon emissions by around 680 tons of CO₂ per year, equivalent to planting more than 11,200 trees. This impact serves as tangible proof that ESG initiatives can deliver significant environmental benefits while supporting industrial competitiveness.

In detail, the facility in Sidoarjo, East Java contributes around 730,726 kWh of green energy, equivalent to reducing about 568 tons of CO₂ or 9,437 trees planted. Meanwhile, the Serang, Banten facility produces an estimated 142,556 kWh of clean energy, reducing emissions by around 110 tons of CO₂, or equivalent to 1,841 trees planted.

This initiative is part of Avian Brands’ Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) roadmap, designed to support the achievement of short-, medium-, and long-term sustainability goals. The ESG strategy includes reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing the use of renewable energy, managing biodiversity, and creating positive and sustainable social impact.

“The implementation of rooftop solar energy system is in line with Avian Brands’ Sustainability Commitment through our ESG Roadmap, which sets the target of reducing scope 1 & 2 emissions by 50% by 2030. We view renewable energy as a long-term investment that not only helps cut emissions but also improves operational efficiency,” said Eko Hajar Prakoeswo, QA & Sustainability Manager of Avian Brands.

SUN Energy sees this collaboration as a model of clean energy partnership that can be replicated across various industrial sectors, while also opening opportunities for other sustainability solutions in the future.

“Energy transition is not only about reducing emissions, but also about building an adaptive, responsible, and resilient industrial system for future challenges,” said Emmanuel Jefferson Kuesar, CEO of SUN Energy. “As a Sustainability-as-a-Service provider and Sustainability Business Partner, we are committed to supporting Avian Brands not only in this project but also in developing other green solutions aligned with decarbonization goals and sustainable growth within Avian Brands and the Group.”

Through this partnership, Avian Brands and SUN Energy reaffirm the vital role of synergy between visionary corporations and renewable energy solution providers in accelerating industrial transformation toward Indonesia’s Net Zero Carbon 2060. Looking ahead, this collaboration is expected not only to expand the use of solar energy but also to pave the way for adopting broader sustainability solutions, ranging from energy efficiency to eco-friendly infrastructure, that can be integrated across the entire Avian Group ecosystem.
