Green Future Summit 2024 successfully concluded in Jakarta on December 17, 2024, at Hotel Sultan. The event featured three thematic discussion sessions with experts and practitioners addressing key issues in sustainability and renewable energy adoption, particularly solar energy, as part of the global shift toward a greener, more sustainable future.

Notable speakers included Christian Rudolf (General Manager of Corporate Marketing Communication, Vinilon Group), Andrew Arristanto (Chief Strategy Officer, PT Blue Bird Tbk), Sugiarto Romeli (Director of New Product Development and Sustainability, PT Impack Pratama Industri Tbk), Edi Srimulyanti (Director of Retail and Commerce, PT PLN Persero), Tiyok Prasetyoadi (Vice Chairperson, Green Building Council Indonesia), Andi Rizaldi (Head of Industrial Services Policy and Standardization Agency), Maria R. Nindita Radyati (Chair of ESG and Task Force, KADIN), David Adam (Business Development Manager, Huawei Digital Power Indonesia), Christian Sinaga (Director, PwC Indonesia Advisory), and Agus Umar Yasin (Chair, Indonesian Water Association).

Carrying the theme "Renewable Energy for a Sustainable Future," the summit served as a collaborative platform that brought together industry leaders, policymakers, innovators, experts, and the public. Its primary goal was to strengthen awareness around climate change and the critical role of renewable energy in addressing it.

According to Edi Srimulyanti, Indonesia’s green industry strategy targets five key outcomes: SDGs, Circular Economy, Low Carbon Development, Enhanced NDC, and Net Zero Emission. Green industry in this context refers to environmentally responsible sectors focused on sustainability and renewable energy utilization.

A significant focus of the summit was on solar energy, particularly solar PV (PLTS), as a practical solution to reduce fossil fuel dependency and support the production of sustainable, eco-friendly goods. Through this initiative, SUN Energy aims to raise cross-sector awareness about the importance of transitioning to renewables, especially solar, as a concrete step in combating climate change.

As the final event in a three-city series, after Surabaya and Semarang, the Jakarta edition of the Green Future Summit 2024 provided a strong closing momentum. The knowledge-sharing and collaboration that took place further reinforced the importance of collective action between industry, government, and society to build a cleaner, more sustainable energy future for Indonesia.

The success of this summit serves as a foundation for even more ambitious renewable energy goals ahead.
